I went for a hike this weekend

I went for a hike this weekend and almost the first thing that happened was this: I came upon a black bear with cubs maybe 50 meters away. She was unperturbed but I was definitely perturbed. You can’t see them in this picture but the cubs were scampering in the trees between me and mom. This is the second black bear I’ve encountered; I wrote a song about the first one but it’s been so long I’ve forgotten how it goes! I guess it’s time to dust it off and add a new verse…
