Lion in the Sun
Abstract: I first hummed the "roar" of this song on the street in Brooklyn, NY. I was feeling particularly animal, I suppose, but the riff stuck with me and in a quieter moment I turned it into a song.
Lyrics:
I’m going to rest my bones, yeah, like the lion in the sun… oh…
I’m going to rest my bones, yeah, like the lion in the sun… oh…
and if you hear that lion roar, you know you better run… oh…
Well, the days go by and I don’t know where I’m going, but I feel fine…
‘Cause the wind it blows me from behind, as I sit and drink my wine.
And I know I will die when my time has come, but I flow ‘cause I realize…
It’s just life that I’m living every day that I can, and I’m glad just to be alive.
I’m going to rest my bones, yeah, like the lion in the sun… oh…
I’m going to rest my bones, yeah, like the lion in the sun… oh…
and if you hear that lion roar, you know his time has come.
