acoustic guitar rock by singer and songwriter ben bruce

honest songs, honestly sung

This hand-drawn image is inspired by Letter to a Young Poet, written by William Carlos Williams, in which he describes how all our efforts as writers and as men must be to release the enchained dragon within us.

Songs

Demos

These songs are the on the short-list for my next album. These have all been recorded at home using Garageband on an iMac with no plugins. I use a Shure microphone my parents bought for me and an M-Audio interface.

Sylvanus

This is my first album, recorded at Solidman Studios in New York City and released in 2004. Sylvanus is a very ancient deity who represents the wild nature in all of us, the animal and the lover, the musician, the dancer, and, when pressed, a protector of the Earth.

Miscellaneous Songs

These are complete songs that I have written (including guitar music) that for whatever reason are not on the short list for my next album. That’s not to say some of them won’t make the next one. I play many of them live, though, and try to break out ones I haven’t played in a while every once in a while to see if they will break into rotation.
