TABLE OF CONTENTS › When You Click Save

Once you’ve selected an existing article (or saved a new one), you will see the Postmaster module underneath the “Save” button. There is a dropdown field to select a list, and a set of radio buttons (“No,” “Yes” and “Test” — the module defaults to “No”) that answer the question “Email to subscribers?”

If you set the radio button to “Test,” you will be taken directly to a page with a note that says your mailing is complete (you were only sending one email, after all). If you set the radio button to “Yes,” you will be taken to the “Bulk Mail” page, which will display some information about how the mailing is going (with an extremely suave and debonair progress bar to keep you visually apprised of your status).

Depending on how many emails you are sending the page will mail 50 emails and then refresh (you can change that number — See Customizing Preferences) — this is called “batch mailing” and it’s necessary so that your server doesn’t time out. You can test how many emails per batch you can mail — 50 is only a best guess at a good default.

You will be notified once the mailing is complete.
