Get the information you want in and the mail you want out … to the subscribers you want to reach.
There are three distinct parts of Postmaster:
- Un/Subscription
- Subscriber & List Management
- Mailing
UN/SUBSCRIPTION
Postmaster takes advantage of Zem_Contact_Reborn’s “plugin API” so you can use that very robust, fully customizable plugin to create your subscription / unsubscription form.
In addition there are other custom tags to help you get the information you want in, and the mail you want out — to the subscribers who want it.
And it makes unsubscribing easy, either from a Web page form or from a link in an email.
SUBSCRIBER & LIST MANAGEMENT
You will manage subscribers and lists in the Textpattern admin — click the Extensions tab, then Postmaster. You will see three sub-tabs: Subscribers, Lists and Import/Export.
- Subscribers: Search and reorder (by Name, Email or List), and select a subscriber to edit. Add new subscribers one at a time. Delete single (or multiple) subscribers.
- Lists: Add, edit or delete lists on this page.
- Import/Export: You can add multiple subscribers at once, and export your subscribers to a text file.
MAILING
This is the simple. Once you’ve selected an existing article, or saved a new one, you’ll see a new module below the “Save” button. There is a dropdown selection (choose what List you want to mail to) and a set of radio buttons (“Yes,” “No” or “Test” — the default is “No”).
Make your selections before clicking the “Save” button, and that’s it. Emails will be sent by Postmaster to the list you selected.
