In his 'Advice to the Young Poet,' William Carlos Williams says, 'All our efforts as writers and as men must be to release the enchained dragon within us.' I have found this inspiring throughout the course of my life. I nod to the saying in my song, 'Poised to Soar' -- you can find lyrics and more on http://www.benbruce.com, the official site for acoustic rock by singer and songwriter Ben Bruce.

Restaurant Idea: "The Trough"

(Posted to Blog by Ben Nov 6, 11:26 AM)

The sign is like a big Porky’s pig, spinning, neon lights. The “tables” are made of stainless steel, and there’s a trough right down the middle.

The sign is like a big Porky’s pig, spinning, neon lights. The “tables” are made of stainless steel, and there’s a trough right down the middle. Each booth has high walls.

You order a bunch of sharing foods, like nachos, cheese fries, stuff that if the edges of the pile mix, it’s not too bad. And your food is prepared in like a big trowel, instead of a plate.

The waiters ring a bell and the whole restaurant watches and says, “OooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!” as the waiter approaches the table, and SLIDES the food off the trowel thing into the trough! And the food sort of splashes in, and everyone digs in!

After people are done the booth is sprayed out with high-powered hot water. Done. Million dollars. I give this to you freely.
