Hey everybody,

I hope good things are coming your way! It’s been an amazing couple of weeks here — we got to go backstage at the Fourth of July party at Gasworks Park (guests of the Presidents of the United States of America, don’t you know) and it was such a great show! It’s hard to believe it even as I say it but I really think that was the best fireworks display I’ve ever seen.

Last weekend we went camping on the eastern slope of Mount Rainier at a site called Ohanapecosh. Great great campsite. Spacious camping. Real bathrooms. My wife is so cool. My boy and I work well together. Hiking! We took two nice hikes, one to the Grove of the Patriarchs to see Big Red and the other ancients, and one to Silver Falls — definitely one of the best payoffs for a loop trail I’ve had in a long time.

A quick reminder that Marcus’ Martini Heaven has closed its doors. That means that the Lone Microphone is without a home. The Lone Microphone that was scheduled for 713 has been cancelled, while the 824 date is still listed and is hopefully far enough out that we’ll have a home before then and the show will go on.

Don’t forget about the Bite of Seattle this Saturday (7÷17). I’ll be performing on the Roadhouse Stage near the Beer Garden from 67. Free Admission!

Or! The best music and camping festival in the Northwest, Summer Meltdown! I’ll be performing along with the Presidents of the United States of America, Flowmotion, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, the Mother Hips, Hot Buttered Rum, EOTOK, you get the idea. It’s an amazing lineup, check it out.

I think that’s it. See you at the Bite or the Meltdown!

– Ben
