I’ve always been good at coming up with clever names for things. I’m particularly pleased with these two names — the Doe Bay Getaway and the Lone Microphone.
The Lone Microphone
I was really pleased with the first ever Lone Microphone — it was an experiment — a proof of concept, as they say — and on that level it was a total success. The bar owner asked me to sit down and have a meeting with him about ways we could make it even better, and we came up with a few:
- Lone Penny Shot @ 9pm. If you’re going to come, you might as well come at 9pm to get a shot for a penny! Incredible!
- Two Tacos for $2. Another incredible deal. This one lasts all night.
- A shot of tequila and a Tecate in a can for $5. Another awesome deal for the Lone Microphone.
So the next one, Lone Microphone II, is set for Dec. 8 @ Marcus’ Martini Heaven and our first confirmed performer is Olivia De La Cruz. Check out some of her music here:

The Doe Bay Getaway
Doe Bay is amazing! Beautiful! The hot tubs overlooking Otter Cove and out to the Salish Sea? Relaxing!
What a great time. I’m looking forward to playing there again in the spring and hoping I can convince some of you to sneak out of Dodge with me.
